Oregon ice wines delightfully tempting

With their wintery weather, Canada and Germany may produce the majority of the ice wine in the world, but that hasn’t stopped enterprising Oregon winemakers from trying to outdo the Canadians and Germans at creating these delightful taste temptations.

Here in Oregon, winemakers are getting a little help from industrial freezers.

At King Estate, which makes Vin Glacé from pinot gris grapes, the grapes are fozen, pressed and then the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine, one of my favorites, has a pear flavor, underlying tones of honeysuckle and a sweet bright finish with a kiss ...
