      Willamette Valley pinot gris: It's ubiquitous, it's pleasant, it's refreshing, it's a terrific foil for food. But, for a long time, serious oenophiles have complained that it lacks gravitas.

      Over the past couple of years, however, a few Oregon winemakers have attempted to change that perception. One of them is Jason Lett of The Eyrie Vineyards, whose father planted gris vines almost five decades ago.
