Oregon winemakers look to tap into market

Surrounded in a restaurant filled with beer drinkers, winemaker Greg Paneitz and his wife wondered why customers weren’t sipping a glass of their wine instead.
It was then that the owners of Wooldridge Creek Vineyard & Winery in Grants Pass decided to start selling vino on tap, lowering the price of the wine with the added bonus of reducing the winery’s carbon footprint.
Just like filling up a growler at a local brewery, customers began using reusable containers to bring their favorite drink home.
But in Oregon, that custom isn’t legally allowed in other venues such as wine ...
