We paired Fruit Loop doughnuts with Rhone blends. We pruned pinot noir vines in triple-digit temperatures. And we drank enough pinot gris to sour even the most acidity-loving oenophile's stomach.
Last month's Wine Bloggers Conference in Portland was a whirlwind course in Oregon's world-class Willamette Valley, where the attitude is laid-back but the wines are serious. As we've done every August for the past five years, wine writers and bloggers around the nation descended on a chosen wine region to swirl, sniff and sip our way to nirvana.
