    1. McMINNVILLE – Public access to the Oregon Wine History Archive, housed at Linfield College, will receive a boost, thanks to an $8,000 Cultural Development Grant from the Oregon Cultural Trust.

The award will help Linfield College organize collections from its Oregon Wine History Archive. In 2011, pioneers of the early Oregon wine industry committed their collections to the small college. The archive contains materials from seven Oregon wineries and vineyards including Adelsheim Vineyard, Erath Winery, Eyrie Vineyards, Ponzi Vineyards, Amity Vineyards, Sokol Blosser Winery and Weber Vineyard. The International Pinot Noir Celebration is also represented.

“The Oregon wine industry is relatively young, and preserving and cataloging its history at this stage will help generations to come,” said Susan Barnes Whyte, Linfield College library director. “The industry constitutes an important part of the economic and agricultural history of Oregon.”
